Belgium producer and market leader of salad spreads and cold sauces. Part of a Dutch food concern but originally a family owned company which is still noticeable in the company’s culture.
The company was looking for an interim planning manager on short term. The main reason for this was the various developments within the planning department but the company also had the ambition to take further steps in professionalisation with more focus on planning and scheduling. The last years, the company realised strong volume growth and focussed on handle and process these high volumes. The need to make further steps in professionalising processes grew, with more attention to efficiency and planning. To achieve this, Gwynt was requested for support.
The approach consisted of managing the planning team to ensure a high service level at minimal waste costs. This was realised by coaching of employees, improvement of the meeting structure and planning cycle.
The planning department has taken steps in professionalising the planning process and the team made important steps in development. A fixed meeting structure within the department has been set up including a daily stand-up meeting with KPI’s and responsible owners, actions, root-cause analyses etc. In addition, service level has improved and waste costs reduced by the use of a new planning tool built by Gwynt. At last, the potential for setting up a production wheel was defined.
