Business Principal Retail / Wholesale

Your role at Gwynt
As a Business Principal at Gwynt, you will bear responsibility for the ins and outs of the retail/ wholesale vertical. Our customers are the larger clicks and bricks retailers, but pure players who offer their entire service online are also regular customers of Gwynt. In your role as Business Principal, you will be involved daily in acquisition (30%), managing your team of experienced consultants (30%) and leading the larger programs at our clients (40%). A challenging job for an entrepreneurial professional who likes to keep many balls in the air at once. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has the ambition and potential to eventually become a partner at Gwynt.
You work daily to build and maintain a healthy client base within the retail and wholesale market. You are able to recognize the challenges at (potential) clients and connect Gwynt’s services to them. Ultimately, you are the person who closes the deal with the client. Your extensive network in this sector helps you to be commercially successful.
You obviously have a clear vision of the future of retail and wholesale and inspire our clients with this: Gwynt organizes several Gamechangerz events every year and we try to excite our (future) customers by creating relevant content. You are the driver of this within your vertical. Also within Gwynt you help build the future: of the retail and wholesale team and the entire organization.
You will also manage a team of experienced consultants. All of them are experts within their own field: supply chain management, operations, culture of excellence, formula management, category management, commercial excellence and (digital) marketing. They are able to lead major change processes and guide organizations through transformations. You are their coaching leader and provide connection within the team. If a team member gets stuck, you are the person who helps him or her (coaching) further. You also help your team members with their development, both professionally and personally.
We find it important that as a Business Principal you also have your own feet in the clay. That is why you spend part of your time leading projects and programs for our clients. This way you keep in touch with the work of your team members and your knowledge remains current.

What does your workday look like?
No two days are the same. One day you’re working with your team to do a deep-dive into a particular market segment, and the next you’re on the shop floor at a client’s office working on a major change project. At another time, you’re sitting down with board from another company to spar about strategic direction. Everything to achieve breakthroughs and lasting results for our clients.

You have:
- Extensive work experience (10+ years) as a Business Consultant or Director within retail and/or wholesale
- Excellent and broad knowledge of retail processes and concepts, preferably in different industries
- Extensive consulting or in-house advisory experience within the operations of successful companies
- Demonstrated experience in managing complex change projects and programs
- A private C-level network and commercial track record within the retail and wholesale sector
- A clear vision of trends within your industry, such as digitization and AI
- Experience with and passion for managing and developing a team of professionals
- Academic level education preferably supplemented by, for example, an MBA degree.

An annual salary between €120,000 and €140,000 gross incl. vacation pay and a variable bonus of up to €40,000 (depending on operating results, own commercial success and project commitment).
