New strategy for transportation organization 2024-2028

A market-leading car transporter with branches in three countries, and a strong presence in both LTL and FTL transportation, was facing radical changes. This proud family business, now led by a new generation of brothers, was in need of a new strategy. Strong market changes and emerging investments made it necessary to set the course for the coming years. In addition, the shareholder position in a joint venture for parcel transport and dissimilar sizes played an important role in the strategic decisions.

Approach

Strategy development began with in-depth interviews with management, the Supervisory Board (SB) and other key stakeholders to get a clear picture of internal and external challenges. We also conducted a detailed financial analysis, modeling investment needs and business cases for the next 10 years. Furthermore, a comprehensive market and competitive analysis was conducted to assess the company’s position in the rapidly changing market. The results and strategic options were presented to the management team, the Supervisory Board and the Stichting Administratiekantoor (StAK), creating broad support for the new direction.

Results

The result was a future-proof strategy for 2024-2028, aimed at reshaping the organization with a clear focus on Automotive and General Cargo. In addition, an acquisition plan was drawn up to achieve growth within the new strategic directions. With a detailed roadmap and action plan for each business area, the organization is now ready to respond to market changes and successfully implement the planned investments.
