Strategic plan update for a high-tech manufacturer

A Dutch family company, active in the high-tech industry with a focus on the semiconductor, analytical and medical markets, faced the challenge of renewing its strategic direction. With 10 locations in Europe and Asia, including 2 R&D sites, the company develops, designs and manufactures ultra-precise components and modules. Approach The renewed strategy was developed through desk research, interviews, international market analysis and multiple workshops with sounding board groups. This process enabled the company to formulate concrete ambitions and clear propositions for its various locations and global functions for the next five years. Results The efforts resulted in a detailed strategy aimed at doubling sales within five years. In addition, 9 guiding principles were established to support the renewed strategy. The company also started Product Life Cycle Management and developed a plan for optimizing and expanding its global footprint.
