The largest supplier of slow-moving non-food in the Benelux, a buy-and-build organization with several categories including Homecare, faced the challenge of revising their strategic direction. Primarily active in retail, this organization wanted to both optimize their existing business and explore new growth opportunities for the future.
Approach
The process began with an in-depth analysis of the current portfolio within the Homecare division. Based on this, we formulated an optimization plan to strengthen the existing business. In addition, we formulated new growth directions, identifying both potential market growth and the financial and organizational impact. This comprehensive process involved not only strategic choices, but also financial calculations and an assessment of the impact on the organization. The strategy was then complemented by an overhead reduction plan and a clear roadmap for implementing the changes.
Results
The renewed strategy for the Homecare division is now ready for implementation. In addition to the financial throughput of the new direction, a concrete overhead reduction plan has also been drawn up, which will contribute to more efficient operations. With a clear roadmap for change, the organization is ready to both optimize the existing business and exploit new growth opportunities in the coming years.
