At an international private-label food manufacturer with production sites in several European countries, rapid growth created a need to have the various factories operate more as a single, integrated network. However, differing work methods, systems, and data sources limited control over planning, decision-making, and performance. Gwynt was asked to develop a future-proof supply chain planning framework and to draw up a roadmap for the application and information landscape.
Gwynt began by analyzing the end-to-end planning processes, performance, and supply chain capabilities. Based on this analysis, a future planning landscape was designed, including roles, KPIs, and meeting structures. In addition, the existing applications, interfaces, master data, and functional requirements were mapped out. Through a gap analysis comparing the current and desired situations, improvement initiatives were identified and translated into a roadmap for applications, master data governance, and the future ERP configuration.
The process has led to a clear vision for future supply chain planning and operations. It also provided insight into the potential for improvement in planning, data, and decision-making. The organization now has an integrated roadmap for applications, master data, and IT transformation. This has laid a solid foundation for an integrated production and planning network with reliable management information, which can effectively support further growth and professionalization.
