Medior Business Associate Retail & Wholesale
Gwynt is the consulting firm for the larger entrepreneurial (family) businesses in retail, wholesale, food and manufacturing. Our clients are the owner or management of the company (family or private equity): we are a strategic sparring partner in this when a breakthrough is needed.
We understand the dynamics of the family business like no other and combine our market knowledge with substantive expertise and change power. As a result, our clients achieve lasting results, growth and a culture of continuous improvement.
The combination of hard (strategy, processes, content, project management) and soft (behavior, management, change management) is an important starting point. Our approach is pragmatic and is not limited to providing advice alone; achieving results is paramount. In some cases, this means our staff temporarily filling interim positions to accelerate the change process.
Your role
As a Medior Business Associate, you will have a key supporting role in impactful transformation projects in the retail & wholesale sector. You will be responsible for some sub-projects within a large program at our client. Together with your colleagues, you develop strategy with and for our client and turn it into concrete plans. You have an active role in project and program management, combined with change management. You use your own analytical ability to contribute to realistic solution directions and to develop and implement them. You know how to come up with creative solutions by combining knowledge and experience with the situation you find yourself in.
Transformation projects often start with a quick scan and it is important at this stage to get to the core quickly. You do this by means of pragmatic (data) analyses, but also by connecting with the management and employees of our clients and by drawing up a customized change program.
Over a period of several months, you will work on one or more assignments (e.g., Omnichannel, Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, Buying & Merchandising, Formula & Category Management, Digital) at our client and build strong relationships with the company’s employees. One day you’ll be working with teams on the shop floor, the next you’ll be at the table with the board to spar about strategic direction, achieving lasting results and a culture of continuous improvement.
What do we expect from you?
It is important to us that you make an impact with our clients and that you fit in with our organization and our team. Teamwork, empathy, result-driven, analytical thinking, people-oriented, pragmatism, ambition and eagerness to learn are some of the aspects we value highly. In your daily actions, you are an example to others.
In summary, we are looking for someone who identifies with the description below:
- about 5 years of experience supporting complex (strategic) projects within retail and/or wholesale
- extensive experience with data analysis, reporting and data visualization and it is an advantage if you have experience with data modeling and algorithms (data science)
- Active follower of trends and new technology within retail and wholesale (e.g. omni- and cross-channel, social commerce, technology & AI)
- an education at academic level; field of study preferably (technical) business administration, economics, econometrics
- it is an advantage if you have experience in consulting, or at least the ambition to develop consulting skills
- Natural curiosity and drive to actively acquire new knowledge and skills
- professional attitude and excellent communication skills at all levels, both verbal and written (Dutch and English)
- the ability to position yourself strongly, create movement, deal with resistance and put yourself in the service of a team
- You have a commercial drive, a strong network and get energy from developing opportunities with (potential) customers.
